The term candle is derived from the Latin Candere, which means to flicker or glitter. Candles are very often used as table centrepieces for celebrations and special occasions, creating a wonderful atmospheric mood especially at weddings.

Candles are very popular at weddings these days. It is very important when putting candle arrangements on tables to make sure they are very low or very high. There is nothing more annoying than having to compete with flowers and candles at eye level and so not being able to communicate across the table.

Most brides choose white or cream candles and decorating them or using these candles in decorations to add the theme colour where necessary. The addition of a candle to a very simple flower decoration makes a lot of impact. A little flower arrangement on a table can look a bit insignificant but the addition of the candle gives it a much better proportion.
